            What is desLibris?

            A online collection of books and documents (monographs) from Canadian sources. There are nearly 80,000 monographs on the site as of 2018. New content is added daily.

            The public site presents all titles in preview form with full search capabilities, so it can be used to locate monographs by title, subject, publisher or a variety of other parameters.



            Using the library platform, libraries can open subscriptions to give all its users authenticated access to a given collection or set of content. Various library-oriented tools, like MARC records, facilitate discovery.



            A library subscription can give its users full online access to over 20,000 books and 50,000 public documents with these additional benefits:

            • IP-authenticated and proxy access for all users, eliminating the need for login
            • Unlimited multiple simultaneous user access to all subscription titles
            • MARC records
            • Usage reports
            • Discovery layer integration
            • Bookshelves, annotation
            • Offline reading
            Within the library account, individual users can open free accounts to use the bookshelf and annotation features.


            Publishers can use desLibris for distribution

            A Database: a simple link to the desLibris site from a library A-Z list will provide all the necessary access tools to use the collection, read online and download books to personal devices

            A Storefront. The public site, available without payment, offers search capabilities and presents previews of all titles along with links to publisher sites and online bookstores. All public documents are available in preview on the public site.
